Down on the Farm

Wednesday was the very last field trip of Bryleigh's kindergarten year. *Sigh* Really? How can this first year of school almost be over? *Double sigh*

Well...at least they went out with a BAM! A little farm called Country Critters, located on the border of Mansfield and Alvarado.

The kids have been learning about the happenings on the farm for a week so this was a great opportunity to see it first hand!

Once we got to our destination there was a rotation of activities that each class went through. Our first stop was a maze that the children had to maneuver through. THEY LOVED IT! I wish I had a picture of the kids coming out the exit...they were sooo proud of themselves.

There was petting zoo, with goats, pigs and sheep. They brushed them so gently. Precious. They learned how to play horseshoes which was hilarious, but they were surprisingly good!

One of Bryleigh's favorite things was the pony rides. She would have stayed there all day if she could have.

There were hay rides and a "train ride" which was two covered wagons pulled by a tractor. They enjoyed this "break" from walking and when the ride came back around they were all sing "Old McDonald"!

There were bounce houses and a Peter Rabbit hunt where the "real" Peter Rabbit hugged and gave them a treat. They competed in sack races and galloped around on stick horses. Over all it was a wonderful day and a great reward for the kids.
